General Description / Primary Purpose:

The UNF History Department seeks to hire a full-time, tenure track assistant professor in the history of the US in the 20th century, post-World War II era. We are interested in candidates whose research focuses on immigration, migration, or international relations, particularly with Asia or the Soviet Union/Russia. Candidates must demonstrate an active research agenda. The successful candidate will be expected to teach the second half of the US History survey (1877-present), a graduate readings course in US History, and an undergraduate historical methods course. The successful candidate will also develop undergraduate and graduate courses in their area of specialty and advise graduate students. Opportunities to develop distance learning courses and digital humanities projects are available. Candidates should demonstrate their commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion, have experience working with diverse student populations, and use inclusive pedagogy. In addition, the candidate should expect to serve on department and university committees.

Faculty Position Required Qualifications:

Teaching experience and evidence of potential for excellence in teaching and scholarship are required. The appointment begins in August of 2022 only candidates who will have the PhD in hand by that date should apply.

The department will give preference to candidates with a transnational perspective.
