This position requires a self-starter who is on the cutting edge of today's social media, graphic design and digital communication trends. The position will require someone who can craft the College's voice for today's print and electronic communications, produce, update and design online and digital content and assist with internal communications and web updates. Essential Functions


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.


Social Media
  • Create a strong social media presence using effective strategies for daily content creation to grow the fan base.

  • Monitor social media channels daily and respond to social media comments or questions as needed

  • Design images and graphics for social media posts and digital marketing

  • Incorporate the use of video and animation in social posts.

  • Monitor social media trends and performance, compile effectiveness reports

  • Marketing
  • Assist marketing team in design, development and implementation of various projects.

  • Assist with website updates

  • Create digital email communications including but not limited to weekly online newsletter.

  • Photography
  • Seek out photography opportunities throughout campus for use on print and digital channels

  • Take photography for on campus events as assigned

  • Capture photos for use in social media posts and marketing efforts


    • Responsible for understanding, supporting and actively demonstrating the College's beliefs, values, mission and vision and being in agreement to be evaluated by same.

    • Create an atmosphere of partnership with existing students, and specific departments such as residence life and athletics.

    Internal: Frequent contact with staff members from other departments in regard to social media requirements for their departments. External: Frequent contact with current and prospective students, clients, and community members through multiple social media channels.Minimum Qualifications

    Education and/or Experience The knowledge, skills and abilities required are often obtained by completing a Bachelor's degree program and working a minimum of two years in a related position or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
    MinimumA degree in marketing, graphic design, communications, journalism or closely related field or comparable work experienceA minimum of three-five years of social media or marketing experienceExperience using the following applications: Microsoft Office - Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook & SharePoint, Hootsuite, Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, and Photoshop
    Preferred
  • Experience using Adobe Creative Cloud software applications (including Photoshop, InDesign and Premier Pro)

  • Excellent written, verbal and visual communication

  • Previous graphic design experience

  • Ability to work independently with close attention to detail

  • Ability to prioritize requests accordingly

    Reasoning Ability (required)Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
    Photography SkillsAbility to assist with digital photography needs of the department. Possess a working knowledge of digital camera. Set up photo appointments, stage photos and collect appropriate releases.
