SUMMARY:


The End-User Support Specialist will be responsible for maintaining and improving classroom, lab, office, and conference room technology. In addition, the End-User Support Specialist will be equipped to troubleshoot computing workstations, install software, and assist with OS updates, patches, etc. The individual will also be available be to assist with event planning where technical assistance is required. This position will support primarily the Dallas location, but will be required to provide assistance at all locations.




DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES (15 or less):


* Ability to work a non-typical business day/week. (Before 8 am and after 5pm and possibly weekends)


* Responsible for operation and support of classrooms, labs, offices, and conference rooms technology.


* Troubleshoot and support managed end-user computing assets.


* Provide training/demonstrations of end-user technology to faculty, staff, and students.


* Maintains classroom arrangement and appearance for various types of learning environments and/or assemblies.


* Oversee new equipment installations with contracted vendors.


* Monitors a/v technology use and recommends upgrades based off of need and industry trends.


* Document standard operating procedures consisting of, but limited to, repair, replacement, and maintenance of equipment. In addition to utilizing the IT work order ticketing system.


* Assist with maintaining the technology inventory assigned to the particular location.


* Lift and move a/v equipment weighing up to 60 pounds.


* Supervise student workers if applicable.


* Contributes to the effective team management of all relevant initiatives, problems, issues, and opportunities.




MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:




  • Education: Bachelor's degree in applicable field or equivalent combination of education and experience.


  • Experience / Knowledge / Skills: Two years of related experience


  • Ability to: Multi-task and work well as part of a team.


  • Physical Requirements: Ability to lift and move equipment weighing up to 60 pounds.


  • Other Requirements:

    • Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of stakeholders in a diverse community. Ability to communicate with IT Professionals concerning computer or network security systems, applications, servers, procedures, and policies.

    • Proficient skills with Microsoft Office software including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.







PREFERRED EDUCATION / SKILLS/ EXPERIENCE:


Hardware/Software troubleshooting, Basic IT Support principles

Graduate Assistants and/or Student Workers
