POSITION SUMMARY: This position is a managerial position responsible for all core registrar activities within South University. The Manager of Academic Operations supervises registration activities and staff. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: basis of admission; new and continuing student enrollment; student academic records; reporting; and upkeep of the student academic files. The Manager of Academic Operations is responsible for ensuring that all academic records and reporting comply with South University and school accreditation standards. Due to fixed deadlines and peak academic periods, the Manager of Academic Operations must frequently be available to work evening and weekends. Incumbent must assure that the South University philosophy: quality services to clients; development, growth, involvement, and recognition of employees; sound economic principles; and environment which is conducive to innovation, positive thinking and expansion - is considered in carrying out the duties and responsibilities of this position.


  • Manage several Associate Registrars in the day to day operations.

  • Ensure all records are maintained in accordance with company and regulatory compliance.

  • Supervise and monitor data entry and processing of attendance; grades; transfer of credit; changes in student status; probation; suspension; and notifications regarding student academic progress policies.

  • Generate and distribute reports as required for company reporting reasons, to include: SBF Reports; Persistence Reports; Participation Reports and other daily, weekly, monthly and quarterly registration statistical reports.

  • Provide oversight for degree audits, pending graduates, diplomas, and honors.

  • Serve as a knowledge base for the student information system and all registrar duties within the Academic Operations Department.

  • Work collaboratively with Academic Advisors, Admissions, Student Accounting, Finance, and other departments to provide quality experience to both students and faculty.

  • Other duties as assigned.


  • A minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in business, education, communications or a related field. A Master's Degree preferred.

  • A minimum of two years of previous managerial experience in customer service, business, education, communications or related work.

  • Previous experience working in a Registrar's Office or College Admissions Office preferred

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Superior time management skills and proven ability to work under strict time deadlines.

  • Demonstrated abilities in computer automation and MS Windows-based software.

  • Ability to exercise good judgment in appraising situations and independently making decisions.

  • Goal and mission oriented and highly ethical.
