Position Summary

The Institute for Public Policy and Social Research (IPPSR) is seeking an Educational Program Coordinator to develop programs that focus on racial equity.

The Institute applies research to pressing public policy issues and builds problem-solving relationships between the academic and policymaker communities, promotes and conducts research on issues of public policy; provides survey research services and, produces public policy education and training programs.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Developing and implementing programs and materials related to IPPSR educational and training programs focused on racial equity, including but not limited to public policy research and preparing reports on public policy topics

  • Writing blog posts; developing and implementing programs and materials for forums, workshops and seminars

  • Coordinating speakers; evaluation of program

  • IPPSR is also incorporating racial equity issues within its programming as well as working to build connections between research and practice across the university and government. Through a grant from the W.K. Kellogg foundation the goal, through research, reports, and educational programming is to "Create the Political Case for Racial Equity". The ideal candidate will have some knowledge and experience in identifying and understanding racial equity within the context of policy issues and policy creation.

    Unit Specific Education/Experience/Skills

    Knowledge equivalent to that which normally would be acquired by completing a four-year college degree program in Educational Theory and Methodology and/or a related specialization or related degree; one to three years of related and progressively more responsible or expansive work experience in planning and overseeing seminars and conferences including public relations, organizing and disseminating training materials and information both written and web-based; budget and records maintenance and computer support; experience in supervision, database, spreadsheet, word processing, desktop publishing, knowledge of HTML programming and web site development and management; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
