ITG Brands is the U.S. division of Imperial Brands. We are the nation's third-largest tobacco company with offerings of some of the most well-known cigarette, cigar and vaping products. We are currently searching for a Sr. Category & Customer Insights Manager, that will sit in our Area Field Sales Office or a work from home office.

Job Summary:

Under general direction, responsible for working closely with multiple business areas to ensure integration and consistency of category messages, assortment strategy, and merchandising principles to help achieve annual targets and goals.


Duties and Responsibilities:
(This list is not exhaustive and may be supplemented as necessary by the Company)

  • Insight Development & Deployment

    • Own Assortment and Space Planning recommendations in partnership with Sales

    • Own Wholesaler Category Planning Sessions

    • Collaborate with multiple business areas to develop Category Leadership Stories

  • Customer Selling & Execution

    • Partner with Field Sales personnel to develop Joint Business Partnerships, deliver category reviews and achieve sales objectives

    • Support Wholesale, National and Independent accounts as needed on ad-hoc insights needs

    • Leverage data and insights develop compelling sales stories

  • Business Planning

    • Support Annual Business Planning

    • Support development of distribution targets and performance measures across customers

    • Contribute to Joint Business Planning with wholesale and retail accounts

  • Communication & Insights

    • Analyze on-going category and customer trends

    • Leverage shopper data to connect our consumers at retail

    • Develop and maintain regular performance reporting with MSAI, IRI and Scan data

    • Partner with other business areas to stay ahead of industry, category & brand, issues and trends and identifies target opportunities

  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned

Job Requirements

Required Minimum Qualifications

Education and Experience:

  • High School Diploma / GED and 9+ years related work experience or

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, or related field of study and 5+ years related work experience


  • Experience to include, but is not limited to:

    • Category Insights in Consumer-Packaged Goods industry

    • Syndicated Scan and Panel Data Analysis (IRI, Nielsen, Numerator)

    • Space management software (JDA)

    • Must be 21 years of age or older.

    • Must possess a valid driver's license issued from state in which employed.

Knowledge of:

  • Intermediate to Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, & PowerPoint) and Microsoft Teams

Skilled in:

  • Working with primary research

Work Environment and Physical Demand:

  • Requires light physical effort. Occasionally lifts or moves light objects (under 10 lbs.).

  • Walks, sits, or stands for prolonged periods.

  • Requires prolonged machine operation including computer and keyboard equipment.
