As we move towards our ZERO ZERO ZERO vision for the future, we are looking to add hardworking individuals to our Active Chassis Calibration team! On this team, we contribute to that vision by developing and delivering world-class vehicle performance to our customers through innovative chassis controls features on GM's upcoming electric and autonomous vehicles.
As an Active Chassis Calibration Engineer you will be involved in highly dynamic work with significant hands-on time spent driving and calibrating vehicles, deep technical analysis of the resulting data, and efforts to continually enhance the underlying algos/controls. You will be directly accountable for the tuning and integration of chassis controls performance features and diagnostics to meet vehicle performance requirements per program timing.
The features to be developed and calibrated generally fall into two areas:
Vehicle Motion Control Features (AWD, torque vectoring, Diagnostics, etc.)
The Active Chassis Calibration Engineer will work to deliver confident and exciting chassis controls performance on the innovative vehicles that will define the next generation of GM's future. Current development programs include Hummer EV, Cadillac Lyric, BrightDrop EV600, Cruise Origin and many upcoming electric vehicles.
Work is primarily accomplished through time spent in-vehicle performing evaluation maneuvers and collecting data on brake controls and AWD controls performance, calibrating controls features to optimize chassis performance and diagnostics, and assessing both objective and subjective metrics. In addition to extensive vehicle work, calibration engineers will utilize innovative tools to support their work including vehicle simulation environments, Software In the Loop, Hardware In the Loop benches, Driver In the Loop simulators and driveline dynos. Calibrators will accomplish this work among a collaborative team of chassis calibrators, propulsion calibrators, algorithm specialists, HIL engineers, system feature owners and performance engineers.
