The Lead Displays Engineer is responsible for the successful delivery of a fully functional validated display systems to saleable vehicle programs. They will manage multiple vehicle programs/suppliers simultaneously as well as organize display supplier peer reviews and participate in other display peer reviews.
Run/manage Displays Product Development and Quality Teams
Lead P-release and tooling kickoff displays activities for IVER vehicle builds
Work closely with mechanical, electrical engineer & management for the display design and roadmaps
Create detailed specifications in close cooperation with internal teams and vendors
Define and implement clear test plan to ensure quality and performance and requirements
Coach and mentor other engineers in the display and touch systems
Define and document system level issues between components of the subsystem
Review test logs to determine where subsystem issues reside
Create SOR working with purchasing, studio and engineering to develop requirements, allowable cost, etc.
Work with supplier to develop needed criteria (DES, surface, die vectors, ECER21 compliance, etc.) for component studio and interior studio (where needed)
Work with appearance studio and materials engineering to identify solutions for achieving finish, color, gloss, etc. of materials.
Meet TALC requirements for display graphics etc.
Address and resolve all safety and compliance issues (i.e., FMVSS, head impact, etc.) based on CAE analysis and physical test evaluations
Support validation lead to achieve validation complete on time at IVER and test vehicle issues
Support root cause investigation for display validation test issues.
Lead root cause investigation for vehicle display development issues
Additional Job Description
Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Physics, Math, Computer Science, Information Technology or Chemistry
Minimum 3 years of electrical or mechanical engineering experience
High level of oral and written communication skills
Demonstrated technical and professional skills
Exhibits appropriate interpersonal styles and communication methods to work effectively with business partners to meet mutual goals
Specific knowledge of engineering discipline (e.g. mechanics, physics, metallurgy, manufacturing methods, electronics, software, control systems)
High level analytical ability where problems are unusual and complex
Strong Project Management
Demonstrated problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently
Ability to travel when required
Master's degree in Engineering
6+ years of experience in job-related area DE skills (UG training)
Experience with common electrical test equipment (meter, scopes, etc.)
Experience with common serial data test equipment (CAT, SCAT, NeoVI, DPS Tools, etc.)
Experience with automotive electrical systems and functional sub-systems
Experienced in working with design studio and interior.
Broad expertise in various display technologies including knowledge of display, electrical and optical operations,
TFT-LCD/AMOLED structures and display optics is required
Experience with Display and Glass manufacturing process.
Experience with the GMLAN serial data communication protocol
Knowledgeable of LAN, and LIN
Knowledge of engineering software and systems as it pertains to Audio Systems
