Our client is looking for direct hire for a Manual QA Engineer for direct hire. They need to be locally in Kansas City and are not able to sponsor at this time. Candidates must be direct hires and not contract to hire. Out client is growing rapidly and it is a great opportunity.


Job Title: Software QA Engineer

Reports To: QA Manager

POSITION SUMMARY:


The Software QA Engineer will be part of Engineering team which is responsible for creating and developing software to provide quality enhancements and Features to our Clients. The QA Engineer is responsible for ensuring high quality results outcomes in the software development process by testing to ensure it meets company standards before moving to the next phase.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Perform manual functional, regression, and integrated testing against new or modified software programs and procedures used to verify that applications function according to requirements and adhere to establishment guidelines.

  • Create test plans and test procedures for program defect identification, environment needs, and product feature evaluations.

  • Generate, execute, and maintain full active test suite of test scenarios to ensure requirements coverage and regression coverage with positive and negative testing in accordance with set processes and methodology.

  • Identify, report, and track product defects as well as address need for additional product functionality in a clear and concise form.

  • Provide estimation of tasks, and on-time delivery against identified schedules.

  • Work closely with engineers to determine most important areas for automation while recommending and implementing impactful solutions.

  • Being an active participant in the Agile Process to include, sprint planning meetings, stand ups and ticket refining sessions.



  • "THE PERSON" | MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor's or relevant work experience.

  • Minimum 3-year experience with full lifecycle.

  • Experience testing Web-based and Mobile Applications,

  • At least 2 years of experience writing manual test cases, test plans, and test execution.

  • Strong understanding of technology, software quality assurance standards and practices.

  • Strong written and verbal communication and active listening skills and the ability to collaborate with a wide variety of technical and non-technical personnel via various methods.

  • Ability to logically identify issues using a level of abstraction and troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills and prediction where necessary in identifying defects, test coverage, and gaps in requirements.

  • Ability to read and interpret business requirements and identify test specifications, test plans, and test scenarios.

  • Ability to effectively produce quality test cases and related test and release documentation with a high level of coverage.



  • Preferred

  • Experience with full lifecycle development using Agile methods

  • Experience in working with web-based, pc-based, and mobile applications built with React/Next.js.

  • Knowledge of where test automation should be applied, its usage, and maintenance needs.
