We are looking for a Master Scheduler to be a key contributor to the production of our state-of-the-art abrasive waterjet machines. This position is located onsite in Kent, Washington, and is responsible for our master production schedule for our OMAX Waterjet division.

Our Kent, Washington location at OMAX is currently recruiting a Master Scheduler. This position is accountable for the planning function for the OMAX waterjet business unit and will have a direct impact as they:




  • Partner with Operations leadership, Purchasing, and Warehouse teams to coordinate production plans to achieve customer service, cost, and inventory objectives. Bring forward recommendations to impact future state outcomes by improving our operations' productivity, quality, and efficiency.

  • Lead the day-to-day activities of the Planning team (4 Planners) by providing direct leadership and development planning for individual team members.

  • Engage in the Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) process, working with Sales, Product Marketing, and Production teams to optimize the factory build plan to meet expected service levels. Establish, review and maintain the master production schedule (2-15 month horizon), balancing people, material, and space constraints.

  • Accountable for all inventory planning strategies to satisfy market expected lead times and service levels. Develop lean-based planning techniques to reduce inventory.

  • Foster a master data management culture by establishing owners, processes, and rhythms for key planning (MRP) master data elements to maintain master data accuracy.

  • Participate in Business Review Meetings with key suppliers to assess risk, review future strategies, and identify potential cost reduction and manufacturing improvement opportunities.Drive in/out-source decision making by working with operations, engineering and procurement, plan and implement sourcing decisions for new product introductions.



Qualifications:


  • A Bachelor's Degree and 3+ years of experience in production planning and purchasing, or equivalent blend of experience without a degree

  • Functional experience using an ERP system including Materials Replenishment and Purchasing Modules

  • Experience leading others either directly or indirectly - creating a sense of partnership and team

  • Professional written and verbal presentation and communications to impact and influence all stakeholders in the planning process

  • Experience with Engineering Changes Processes and Parts Management

  • Experience working in a manufacturing environment with engineered parts

  • Exposure to Lean/Just-in-Time (JIT) production systems
