We are seeking a highly experienced Global Practice Leader to support and direct LEO A DALY’s Federal program. Reporting directly to the Chief Development Officer, this role serves as the visionary and strategic leader for the company’s global Federal portfolio which includes both Department of Defense and Federal Civilian Programs. The Federal Global Practice Lead will be a thought leader with demonstrated capability to oversee a multi-regional, multi-disciplinary practice, and serves as the top business development executive on behalf of the company for engaging across the Federal AEC community.
Leadership and Management
In coordination with Brand leadership, establishes and executes the Federal market strategy
Lead and facilitate regularly schedule meetings centered around growth, client development, performance, and achievement of goals
Champion our One Team mentality helping to strengthen the overall design practice
Assess resources, expertise, and experience to ensure strategic growth year over year
Represent LEO A DALY at community and industry events such as Society of Military Engineers, professional conferences, meetings, committees, etc.; maintain strong ties to the professional network
Be the trusted advisor in all matters of practice where needed within the Federal practice
Continually engages with Market Sector, subject matter expertise, and Client Account leadership with regular communication about overall company goals
Advance the overall Federal Program through well-articulated vision and strategic direction.
Provide thought leadership at the global, national and studio levels.
Critical understanding and ability to comprehend internal strengths and weaknesses across the global practice.
Lead the development of the annual strategic plan for the Global Federal Market Sector.
Plan and coordinate national conference activities and events.
Oversees the maintenance of the Federal Program marketing materials, branding and positioning strategy, and marketing action plan.
Business Development and Client Account Management
Federal bLeadusiness development, while providing guidance to studios to develop targeted client capture plans.
Conducts active outreach and business development focused activities to broaden the New Business and grow our Net Revenue of the Federal practice sector year over year.
Serves as capture lead and/or sponsor on key strategic pursuits
Establishes key accounts at a global scale across the Federal market
Guide the development of winning pursuit strategies and assist in reviewing submittals, RFQ’s, RFP’s, RFIs, etc.
Participate as an active member of our Federal planning and design teams and serve as a global resource for current and future industry trends, system operations, innovation, delivery model and environments of the future concepts, etc.
Key metrics include New Business Contracted, Net Fees Earned, Return on investment, Book-to-burn, and win/loss percentage.
Ability to grow portfolio through successful IDIQ programs, stand-alone pursuits, and task order management
Ability to speak publicly at industry events as part of LEO A DALY’s brand recognition strategy
Bachelor’s degree required in Architecture, Engineering, Business, or related field
10+ years’ experience in a business development or leadership position within the design industry, primarily focused on the Federal market.
Ability to travel
Significant leadership and experience across large, multi-office, multi-disciplinary programs.
Successful candidate will have direct experience with both Federal DoD and Federal Civilian accounts
Recent Design Build experience within the Federal market
Team-oriented, with the ability to support, facilitate, lead, and motivate others through influence and respect
High performer with proven entrepreneurial skillsets
Capable of generating enthusiasm for best-in-class performance in the Federal market; presents a fresh, forward-looking approach and the willingness, determination, and vision to act as a change agent
Master’s degree in Architecture, Engineering, Business, or related field
Ability to obtain a security clearance
15+ years’ experience in a business development or leadership position within the design industry, primarily focused on the Federal market.
Registered Architect or Professional Engineer preferred
Current or past leadership in Society of Military Engineers, AIA, DBIA
