This position requires individuals to analyze training needs for software products, formulate software training objectives, and create software eLearning content through engaging with writers and stakeholders. The person will also create documentation and other user assistance content as needed under moderate supervision.
Responsible for planning, coordinating, and reporting status of eLearning content for one or more product lines, working closely with product owners and technical writers.
Trains and mentors team members on instructional design strategies and eLearning development approaches as needed.
Demonstrates mastery of instructional design skills to plan, create, and update eLearning on software products for multiple audiences.
Develops scenario-based learning content, tutorial videos, simulations (in Articulate or Captivate), and assessments with minimal guidance.
Relies on a wide-range of experience and judgment to collaboratively plan and accomplish product-specific eLearning goals.
Translates technical content into eLearning courses and learning paths.
Recommends formats and approaches to improve the quality of user assistance content and deliverables.
Demonstrates moderate product documentation skills and strategies.
Develops enhanced product knowledge and understanding of users.
Uses effective communication skills to work closely with cross-functional teams to create content that meets customer needs.
Creates storyboards and design specifications to be used as a blueprint by other writers as needed.
Understands learning management systems (LMS), SCORM, and eLearning, and is familiar with LMS administration tasks and/or has implemented a new LMS. (Preferred, but not required)

Bachelor’s or master’s degree in technical writing, communication, instructional design, learning design and technology, or a related field
8+ years of experience in designing and developing eLearning content (preferably for commercial software products)
Experience with development of training videos and simulations
Adept at visualizing content
Knowledge of Captivate, Articulate, 360Learning, and/or other self-paced training development tools and learning management systems is preferred, but not required
Ability to handle multiple priorities and flexibility to accommodate changing requirements and priorities
