Product Designer

About you

You are passionate about designs role in making a difference in healthcare. When you solve problems, you enjoy considering the details alongside the holistic impact of a design. You enjoy teaching and learning equally, and you embrace experimentation as a part of progress. You collaborate well with all kinds of people, and youre adaptable and naturally curious.


Product Designers are a key player throughout the process of developing Practice Fusions health IT solutions. You will help identify, investigate, and validate the problem, and ultimately craft, design, test, ship, and evaluate the solution. Youll also work with the rest of the design team to evolve and manage our design system and patterns across the EHR and PHR.

  • Be a champion for our users. Develop deep empathy for our healthcare providers and their patients through user research and be the voice of the user throughout the product development process.

  • Be a champion for design throughout the agile process, from ideation to implementation.

  • Be adept at problem synthesis and problem solving. Work with other designers, product managers, and technologists to analyze business requirements and design solutions that respond to user needs.

  • Understand how to work in systems. Value consistency and quality, and help refine and evolve our component and pattern libraries.

  • Balance user and business needs in execution of quality design. Approach design as both an idealist and a pragmatist.

  • Be a clear and active communicator and a collaborator across many different disciplines, including product, engineering, marketing, customer success, sales, and the executive team.

  • Present your designs and ideas clearly and articulately to a wide audience.

  • Measure the impact of your designs. Work across teams to define success for your projects and develop and execute a plan for measuring that success.

  • Advocate for design thinking. Inform and influence the teams you work with on best practices for human-centered design.


  • 2+ years of user-centered design experience
  • Bachelor degree in relevant field highly preferred or equivalent experience
  • A portfolio demonstrating superior design skills and deliverables from a user-centered design approach
  • Solid organizational and project management skills and the ability to balance divergent projects and competing deadlines
  • Strong experience with design tools like Sketch, InVision, Abstract, Figma, Miro, productboard etc.
  • Excellent communicator and presenter with the ability to persuade and inspire different audiences at varying levels in the company
  • Commitment to learning new concepts in the complex world of health IT and in the design field
  • Highly collaborative, low-ego approach to design
  • Healthcare experience is a plus.

Travel requirements

  • Ability to travel up to 10% by various conveyances (e.g. plane, train, car)
