Position Summary
This position will provide on-demand, evidence based crisis intervention and assessment services via video technology to members of the community. This position will work closely with law enforcement, first responders, and other community resources to assess, de-escalate, and problem-solve issues which may appear to be associated with mental illness and/or substance use disorders.

This is a part-time (20 hours/week) grant-funded position. Flexible shifts are available.

Clinical Services

As part of a team, provide on-demand assessment, consultation, and crisis intervention services that serve the community 24 hours per day, 7 days per week
Respond timely and positively to first responders, community agencies, Aspire staff, and those served in a helpful and professional manner to effectively handle difficult situations with appropriate tact, respect and resourcefulness.
Coordinate with the individual being served, first responders, and others to achieve a plan of action that would serve to alleviate the crisis situation.
Arrange referrals to external treatment domains or agencies, as needed
Provide follow-up contact as indicated
Build caring and trusting relationships with those we serve and their identified family members.
Foster a strong working relationship with first responders as well as community partners, which may include DCS, hospitals, other mental health agencies, health providers, probation, schools, community agencies, etc.
Must be able to demonstrate the ability to responsibly use video technology in the provision of clinical services


Education and Experience

Master's degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling or other mental health related field from a college/university accredited by the US Department of Education required
Two (2) years experience in a related field required
Community Mental Health experience highly preferred
Experience with Crisis Intervention highly preferred
Must have excellent crisis intervention/de-escalation skills
Knowledge and application of utilizing social service systems, community resources, legal systems, and child welfare systems highly preferred


Licensure

Must be recognized as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC), or Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) by the State of Indiana

Must be able to demonstrate the effective use of Aspire's Electronic Health Record (EHR)
Must possess the ability to learn and/or operate relevant computer operating system environments, and the ability to operate a variety of office equipment
Must have exceptional soft skills, such as relationship-building, communications, listening, negotiation and diplomacy
Must be able to demonstrate accuracy and thoroughness and the ability to problem solve and utilize critical thinking skills
Must be detail oriented, have excellent organizational skills and be flexible
Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced, time sensitive environment with shifting priorities and multiple deadlines
Show appreciation for and ability to respond to cultural differences, and adjust communication practices accordingly in order to minimize cross-cultural misunderstandings
Consistent work attendance and compliance with scheduled work hours (excludes approved FMLA absences)
Exercise due diligence to prevent, detect, and report unlawful and/or unethical conduct by fellow co-workers, professional affiliates and/or agents
Must possess/maintain a valid driver's license, current automobile insurance and a driving record that meets the guidelines and requirements of the organization
Must have reliable transportation to transport self/others and to travel to other sites for trainings and/or meetings
Display a positive work ethic


Background Checks
Employment is contingent on background checks as required by Aspire's policies which may include: Drug Test, Criminal History, Driving History Record, Sex Offender Registry Search, State Central Registry Check, Employment Verification, Education Verification, and Professional References

Vaccinations
For those employees who have direct patient contact, it is recommended by the CDC that a record of immunizations be documented and retained in a health personnel file. Written documentation (vaccine record) or titres (blood testing) may be needed to determine immunization status.
