Software Engineer II at TrueCommerce, Inc.

Job Description:

The Software Engineer II will be responsible for maintaining and evolving our current suite of systems. This position will design, develop, and unit test enhancements and defect fixes and work with other members of the technology team to deliver new releases on schedule and with high quality in accordance with our plans.

Software Engineer II Job Responsibilities:


  • System Design and Development

    • Design, develop and maintain applications / integrations with CRM/ERP systems.

    • Suggest operationally feasible solutions to technical or internal customer related problems

    • Provide reasonable and accurate time estimates for tasks, and consistently meet deadlines.

    • Determines operational feasibility by evaluating analysis, problem definition, requirements, solution development and proposed solutions

    • Documents and demonstrates solutions by developing documentation, flowcharts, layouts, diagrams, charts, code comments and clear code.

    • Learn new technologies as needed to successfully perform these duties.

    • Help define and evolve product development standards, guidelines, procedures, processes, and metrics.

    • Work with cross department functional team members as needed to gather requirements and understand process enhancements.

    • Execute on other assignments as directed.


  • Management of Development LIfe Cycle

    • Create unit test cases and apply these against developed software to ensure quality

    • Debug software and fix defects uncovered during the testing process.

    • Work with other software engineers, managers, QA engineers, and technical operations team members, as needed, to ensure quality and the successful rollout of new applications or features.

    • Create relevant documentation in accordance with company software development methodology (e.g. comments in code, design documents).

    • Follow existing standards in daily work. (e.g. coding standards and design standards).


  • Support and Maintenance of ERP / CRM

    • Provide post-release software and application support, including incident reporting.

    • Support maintenance of processes and procedures to maintain the ERP/CRM systems.

Experience


Required


  • 3 year(s): Experience as a software developer.

Preferred


  • Experience supporting other accounting packages a plus.

  • Good working knowledge of general accounting practices, thorough understanding of business flow and common EDI transaction sets a plus.

  • General understanding of software usability, N-tier architectures, Web services, and SQL Databases with the ability to create robust software designs that meet the business requirements.

  • Experience with ERP/CRM systems, especially NetSuite

  • Software estimation skills.

  • Ability to communicate inputs and ideas within collaborative ad-hoc design sessions, presentations, and in written form to a range of audiences with wide ranges of technical knowledge and ability.

  • Experience with the following technologies: .Net/C#, ASP.Net, HTML, JavaScript, SQL Server, SSIS packages, XML and integration platforms.
