Supply Chain - Pharma Strategy & Contracting combines the coordination and management of the company's key supplier groups under a single management team. Major suppliers include brand and generic pharmaceutical manufacturers, retail pharmacies and drug wholesalers.

JOB SUMMARY

The Senior Advisor, Strategy & Financial Analysis Trainer primary responsibilities will focus on training formulary consultant analysts so that they may provide rebate modeling consultation to standard and custom formulary clients through contract interpretation and rebate financial modeling. As a Senior Advisor, you will have the opportunity to assist formulary consulting analysts in identifying strategic opportunities for clients to optimize their formulary to drive value for both internal and external organizations. This position works collaboratively with cross functional teams and may lead interdepartmental teams or projects to drive process improvements. Internally recognizedand trusted as the formulary rebate modeling mentor and subject matter expert.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS


  • Mentor Formulary consulting analysts and lead department training needs for custom formulary, new sales and renewal rebate strategy teams.

  • Evaluate client data, create scenarios, and provide expert formulary modeling and guidance for existing clients in alignment with department strategic objectives that drive value to both clients and ESI.

  • Collaborate with cross functional teams to create formulary optimization strategy for custom or standard formulary clients based on therapy class and/or drug specific scenarios, rebate offerings, and modeling options.

  • Provide formulary modeling support to cross functional teams for complex RFP requests- prospect clients and/or client renewals in alignment with department strategies and goals.

  • Provide rebate modeling consultation and training on rebate contract interpretation and strategic opportunity identification.

  • Ability to analyze the financial impact of client requested formulary changes to both the client and Express Scripts.

  • Assist in creating presentations for client formulary strategy and/or consulting meetings including all supporting documentation as needed.

  • Strategize with cross-functional areas of Express Scripts, including but not limited to Account Management, Pricing, Product, Finance, and Rebate Strategy Teams.

  • Effectively document and communicate formulary analysis projects. (i.e., forecast model maintenance, quality assurance processes, etc...) ensuring optimization of work processes for formulary modeling strategies and achievement of department goals.

  • Interact with all levels of management as a subject matter expert in utilizing internal tools, processes to conduct rebate modeling.

  • Create, develop and maintain training manuals and other key documents integral to departmental success.

  • Coordinate and facilitate training and onboarding calls or presentations for new hires.

  • Serve as the point person for all rebate modeling training related questions.

QUALIFICATIONS


  • Bachelor Degree, Finance, Healthcare or related area/MBA a plus

  • 3-5 years relevant work experience

  • Strong Leadership, Detail Oriented Organizational, Communication, and Analytical skills

  • Excellent PC skills - including Excel, PowerPoint and MS Access, experience with database

  • Financial modeling experience

  • Familiarity with pharmaceutical rebate contracts a plus

  • Proven ability to work in a fast paced - ever changing environment

  • Excellent relationship building and cross functional skills

  • Ability to travel approximately 10%.

This role is Flex/WFH which allows most work to be performed at home or on occasion at a Cigna office location. Employees must be fully vaccinated if they choose to come onsite.

This position is not eligible to be performed in Colorado.
