Job Description:
Position title:  IT Engineer, Elevate Integration Developer
Position #: 126723   The Integration Developer supports the UMD Elevate Project by focusing on the Integration domain and subject areas. Specifically, the Integration Developer 1) designs, builds, and supports testing of Workday integration code base including Studio, EIB, and supporting 3rd party coding and 2) identifies, assesses, and solves complex business problems for integrating the Workday cloud application with external applications across a wide array of Human Capital Management and Financial functional areas. The Integration Developer serves as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for Integration technical areas and helps coordinate a cohesive solution design among the areas.
 
Minimum qualifications   EDUCATION:
Bachelor’s degree required and a minimum of between three to five years of relevant experience. Must be able to manage high volume workload with many interruptions and pay close attention to details.


EXPERIENCE:
  •  2+ years of experience integrating disparate systems
  • 2+ years of ETL or Reporting tool development
  • Experience with integration-related technologies (SOAP and REST APIs, WSDL, SFTP, XML/XSLT)
  • Experience developing technical integrations from beginning to end
  • Experience with large system implementations


KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES:
  • Ability to understand a complex system architecture in which data flows between interconnected systems, managed by different teams
  • Capable of understanding all integration options and being able to choose the best one based on requirements
  • Effective communication skills – including the capability to listen to the needs of others, research and comprehend complex matters, articulate issues in a clear and concise manner, and present findings as well as recommendations in both oral and written presentations
  • Demonstrated ability to coordinate a high level of activity under various conditions and constraints
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, and experience applying these skills to resolve operational and system issues
  • Ability to work as part of a team and with members of other functional/technical teams to identify action items, team member responsibilities, etc.
  • Detail oriented
  Preferences
  • 2+ years of experience with Java
  • Experience with Workday’s Integration Framework
  • Support of production level scheduled jobs

Must have the ability to walk short distances, and/or drive a vehicle to meetings on and off campus. Occasional evening and weekend work to meet deadlines.
