JOB DESCRIPTION

Primary Responsibilities


  • Supervise 2-4 Supervisors (supervisors have responsibilities for their crew in the department and coverage in other areas of the plant as needed).
  • Maintenance scheduling, planning, prioritizing work, purchasing, employee supervision, supervision of contractors and training and development.
  • Ensuring compliance of Environmental, Health, and Safety programs by employees and contractors working onsite.
  • Implementation of reliability excellence tools to maximize equipment availability and reliability
  • To Investigate/trouble shoot technical problems and help to establish procedures and corrective actions to avoid recurrences
  • Providing technical support to maintain and upgrade plant equipment and systems.
  • Assisting in developing and managing the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
  • Drive the implementation of ABS, Process Management and TPM to achieve departmental goals and continuously improve performance .
  • Engage employees in department initiatives.
  • Coach and train employees and supervisors (Including working on weekends and back shifts as required).
  • Plan and assign work, implement policies and procedures and recommend improvements in working conditions.
  • Be responsible for performance management, including preparing and administering performance reviews and disciplinary action when appropriate.
  • Develop, implement and maintain SWI's, standardized work for employees, leadership.
  • Ensure adherence to Labor Agreement, Work Rules and Standards.
  • Miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

Major Activities and Key Challenges Include:

  • Communicate with other production and support departments (Quality, Engineering, PC, ABS, etc);
  • Report out on departmental performance;
  • Review production schedules, staffing requirements and related costs;
  • Implement, maintain and improve processes that will prevent EHS incidents;
  • Work with crews/shifts on weekends and back shifts as required.

Basic Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent (G.E.D.) from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment;
  • Minimum of 3 years of managerial and / or supervisory experience;
  • Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial or Electronic Engineering.
  • Minimum of five years of experience in a heavy industrial manufacturing environment.
  • Five years of experience in a management capacity with demonstrated leadership, training capabilities and ability to work under minimum supervision.
  • Experience with data analytics / statistics in relation to making decisions for plant operations.
  • Intermediate to Advanced skill in Microsoft Office.
  • Knowledge of OSHA & other regulatory agencies directives.
  • Must have experience evaluating and coaching employees to their full potential.
