Job Description Summary:

The Assoc Mgr, Environmental, Health, Safety will assist in the development and execution of EHS applicable programs that make the PTC on-site work experience best-in-class in terms of employee safety and security. The Assoc Mgr, EHS will aid in managing contractors and vendors to ensure that risks are mitigated. Besides, this role will build strong working relationships with PTC Facilities Leadership, Key Operating Leaders, and Regulatory Agencies, as needed.

The incumbent works cross-functionally with internal departments and external resources on Facilities/EHSS related issues.

The Assoc Manager, EHS assists in ensuring adherence to relevant regulatory requirements and company Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) as appropriate.

Job Description:

Responsibilities:


  • Prepares Hazard Assessments for Personal Protective Equipment.

  • Assists in the coordination and delivery of EHS training to Research, Development, Manufacturing and Office Workers.

  • Assists in the preparation of SDSs of new research components for shipment.

  • Assists in the preparation and approval of EHS SOPs.

  • Supports Hazardous and Regulated Medical Wastes management and disposal activities.

  • Maintains tracking of all EHS permits, licenses, and regulatory reports.

  • Assists in Emergency Management activities, including emergency drills.

  • Assists in the waste management activities in compliance with EPA and NJDEP regulations.

  • Assists in the coordination of field activities with some external service providers.

  • The incumbent will work directly with the Sr. Director of Environmental, Health, Safety and Security (EHSS) to ensure that all EHS programs are implemented and executed properly.

  • Supports Site Security program

  • Able to run capital and non-capital projects.

  • Performs other tasks and assignments as needed and specified by management.

Qualifications:


  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline and a minimum of 5 years of progressively experience in Environmental Health and Safety, preferably within a pharmaceutical, healthcare, or biotechnology work environment.

  • Proven experience in preparing environmental health and safety procedures.

  • Ability to work effectively with various groups to ensure conformance to regulatory requirements, internal processes, and policies as required.

  • Detail oriented, resourceful, creative, and flexible with superior people skills for interacting with a wide constituency.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication and skills.

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively, as required, in a fast-paced, matrixed, team environment consisting of internal and external team members.

  • Analytical thinker with excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines.

  • Proficient knowledge of EHS regulations.

  • Excellent planning, organization and time management skills including the ability to support and prioritize multiple projects. 

  • 10% travel

  • Office based position
