The Team Leader position is a dynamic cross functional leadership role within the Production team responsible for supervising production staff in a manufacturing and assembly environment. This position plans and assigns work, implements policies and procedures and recommends improvements in production methods, equipment, operating procedures and working conditions.
Provide daily direct supervision for the assembly operators and Group Leaders in order to maintain the highest level of efficiency for the manufacturing operations.
Responsible for the coordination and monitoring of manufacturing resources (man, material, machine) to ensure the on time delivery of product in accordance to the Production Plan in a safe and cost effective manner.
Responsible for planning and coordinating operator training to maintain high efficiencies and flexibility within the plant.
Responsible for meeting production quality, quantity, standards and cost expectations for the housekeeping of their assigned area.
Monitor and maintain floor material inventories, including entry of daily material moves in ERP system.
Responsible for maintaining the safety and cleanliness of the manufacturing floor through the use of 5S practices.
Assist in the development and implementation of improvement plans for key drivers of S/Q/D/C with the Program Team, Production Engineers and Tooling groups.
Perform semi-annual employee evaluations with production operators to provide timely performance feedback and coaching on improvements.
Participates in accident investigations and monitors opportunities for ergonomic improvements.
Tracks absenteeism, timekeeping and training.
Responsible for staying in compliance with EEO, ADA and all other applicable governmental requirements with which the company is required to be in compliance.
Performs all other duties as required, requested or needed.
Required Skills:
Bachelors Degree in related field. A degree in Manufacturing Management preferred, but not required.
5+ years of manufacturing experience
2+ years of supervisory experience
Ability to obtain a US Government Security Clearance. Clearances are granted to US Citizens.
Desired Skills:
Computer Skills: Microsoft office, achieve competency with the time reporting and production software programs within the first thirty days of employment.
Lean manufacturing experience
