Qualifications & Requirements:
Graduate from a Certified Dental Assistant program or equivalent experience.
Previous experience in a dental or medical depart desired.
Good written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to communicate effectively and respectfully with internal and external customers.
The Dental Assistant is supervised by a Dentist and is responsible for various non-skilled dental tasks. The Dental Assistant is expected to provide clinical support to the dentist by utilizing 4 handed dentistry and prepare operatory in accordance with procedure. Must follows infection control protocols for instrument sterilization in accordance with EBNHC policies. Practice and adhere to OSHA and HIPPA regulation at all times. Day / Evening and Saturday rotations required. Boston residents preferred. One year experience working in a Dental office required. HS Diploma or Equivalent. Graduate from a Dental Assistant Program/Certification in dental radiology required. Schedule Monday, Wednesday, Friday, 8:30 AM - 5:15 PM, Tuesday, Thursday, 11:30-8:15 PM, and will include Saturday rotations 7:45am - 4:30pm. Flexibility in schedule is required.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Participates in direct patient care activities as directed by a dentist. These include: oral hygiene education
Proper retraction of cheek, lip and tongue
Take impressions and bite registration
Take digital X-rays and Panoramic images of diagnostic quality as requested by providers
Assist with intra oral and extra oral photographs
Prepares for sessions and insures all charts, equipment and x-rays are available for the dentist and client
Facilitates efficient patient flow.
Follows the procedure for booking routine referrals and urgent appointments.
Maintains work area in an orderly manner.
Ensure assigned operatories are cleaned and disinfected between patients
Ensures that operatories have been made safe for patients before bringing them in
Instrument Sterilization
Stocks operatories in time for sessions and insures that supplies used are charged for
Maintain an inventory of supply
Ensures equipment is maintained in operating ordered and meets standards for health and safety
