SUMMARY: Performs a variety of clerical duties related to the establishment and maintenance of bankruptcies and the appropriate documentation.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
· Update reports, spreadsheets and distribution of reports.
· Answer telephones, screening and routing calls to appropriate person, sort and route mail, duplicating documents using copying equipment, sending e-mail and faxes.
· Update collection system, reviewing collection system remarks, queues and maintaining collection system reports.
· Input and processing all bankruptcy petitions, discharges, dismissals and further documentation to secure the position of the bank and its claims relative to the bankruptcy. Reviewing exceptions and working with various attorney offices on bankruptcies.
· Assist in processing bankruptcy plans and claims.
· Review of invoices and perform data entry to ensure proper disposition of fees.
· Use Internet systems and services associated with bankruptcies.
· Receives, reviews and distributes emails from centralized email address.
· Ensures all actions performed are in compliance with government regulations and organizational policies and procedures.
SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES/EXPERIENCE
· Position normally requires about one year of education beyond high school consisting of specialized courses in such subjects as accounting, business administration, or banking as represented by a standard A.I.B. certificate.
· Over 12 months of experience.
· Excellent PC skills, with demonstrative proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
· Excellent interpersonal skills with highly effective oral and written communication skills.
· Knowledge of loan and legal documentation
· Knowledge of, or ability to learn Metavante system and collection system.
· Knowledge of servicing procedures associated with loans sold on secondary market.
· Working knowledge of Internet.
· Notary public.
· Ability to complete duties with minimal supervision and within required time frames.
· Strong analytical skills.
· Ability to lift and carry various files.
