Kaba Ilco Corporation, located in Rocky Mount, NC, has an immediate need for Material Handler to support production on 1st and 2nd shift. The Material Handler moves freight, stock, or other materials or performs other general labor in support of production.

THIS OPENS THE DOOR TO YOUR FUTURE: YOUR TASKS

• Moves stock or other materials to and from storage or production areas, loading docks, delivery vehicles by hand or using Forklift truck, or other equipment


• Operates cranes, hoists, or other moving or lifting equipment to load and unload


• Opens containers using steel cutters, crowbars and other hand tools


• Sorts cargo before loading and unloading


• Attaches identifying tags to containers or marks them with identifying information


• Reads work orders or receives oral instructions to determine work assignments or material or equipment needs


• Stacks cargo in locations as directed, using pallets or cargo boards


• Records operational or production data (shipping logs, production order, inventory sheet, forklift inspection sheet etc.) on paper and/or into computer systems


• Completes cross-training in the area as required by supervision


• Trains other teammates as required by supervision


• Maintains the work area and equipment in a clean orderly condition in accordance with 5S protocol and follows prescribed standard procedures and safety regulations


• Reports to work regularly and punctually as working schedule requires


• Other duties as assigned

WE PUT TRUST IN YOU: YOUR SKILLS

• High school diploma or GED, or Silver Career Readiness Certificate, and one year or more direct experience or training


• 12 months experience of forklift/hoist/overhead crane in a manufacturing environment preferred

• Able to work independently and with other teammates in the organization to achieve goals


• Able to identify complex problems and reviewing related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions


• Skilled in oral and written communication, organization, and coordination


• Forklift license or ability to attain forklift license required


• Basic computer skills


• Must be able to wear hearing protection, interpret information by using visual acuity, hearing and speaking, gross and fine motor skills
