Bachelors degree in accounting with 5+ years accounting experience in a manufacturing environment
CPA or CMA preferred
SAP experience a plus
Perform month-end financial closing in a timely and accurate manner. Prepares journal entries. Reviews results throughout closing process and makes correcting / adjusting journals as required.
Analyze and reconcile sales, cost of sales, and inventory stock / reserve balances at month-end
Prepare reports for local management and Amsted Rail including P&L Analysis vs. Plan, Ops Bridge (Amsted Rail), Product Line Margins, Camp Hill Mfg Report Package, Camp Hill Inventory Velocity, Inventory Trend Charts.
Present monthly financials to local management and review with upper management in Granite City.
Maintain standard cost system. Update standards annually for all part numbers and individual part numbers throughout the year as new part numbers are added or existing costs change significantly.
Review sales / margins, backlog, and purchase price variances.
Prepare financials for monthly estimates and quarterly forecasts.
Annual Business Plan preparation and presentation to senior management
Prepare year-end financial and tax schedules for Amsted Rail / Amsted Industries.
Calculate and analyze warranty reserve requirements
Assist in review of excess and obsolete inventories.
Serve as primary contact with internal / external financial auditors
SOX review and compliance
Interacting with operations personnel and advising as needed
Perform special cost studies / analyses for local management and Amsted Rail
