The Senior Continuous Improvement Engineer will work as a Lean Manufacturing change agent and coach. The role supports the organization as a senior Technical contact on Lean Manufacturing and projects. The position will be responsible to lead and execute continuous improvement initiatives across the Connectors Value Stream and coach continuous improvement practitioners in problem solving and program mangement. This will require the ability to educate and motivate individuals at various levels of the organization and the ability to manage projects to a successful and timely conclusion. Additionally, this position will support new product introductions to ensure that the manufacturing processes, equipment and the production cells are "born lean". The position interacts with senior internal personnel on technical matters often requiring cross-functional collaboration.
A Day in the Life
Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned.


  • Designs manufacturing processes, procedures and production layouts for assemblies, equipment installation, processing, machining and material handling.
  • Designs arrangement of machines within plant facilities to ensure most efficient and productive layout.
  • Designs sequence of operations and specifies procedures for the fabrication of tools and equipment and other functions that affect product performance.
  • Adapts machine or equipment design to factory and production conditions.
  • May incorporate inspection and test requirements into the production plan.
  • Inspects performance of machinery, equipment, and tools to verify their efficiency, and investigates and initiates corrective action of problems and deficiencies to ensure product quality.
  • Develops manufacturing processes that are applicable to statistical process control, and may develop those techniques.
  • Provides guidance to engineering regarding design concepts and specification requirements to best utilize equipment and manufacturing techniques.
  • Ensures processes and procedures are in compliance with regulations.
  • Lead Value Stream wide initiatives and Facilitate Kaizens with regards to Operational Excellence.
  • Hands on execution and project management of Lean transformation projects (Cell Operating System)
  • Delivers DMAIC, Six - Sigma and Lean Manufacturing training & Coaching.
  • Assess and evaluate gaps in manufacturing work flows and management systems.

Must Have: Minimum Requirements


  • Bachelors degree required
  • Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience, or advanced degree with a minimum of 2 years relevant experience

Nice to Have

  • Green Belt Certification (Internal or ASQ)
  • BB/Master Belt Certification
  • Ability to facilitate groups and teams
  • Expertise in Lean Manufacturing/Toyota Production System
  • Knowledge project management and lean transformations
  • Experience with problem solving analytics such as DMAIC/A3
  • Coaching experience
  • AutoCAD
