The successful candidate will join a team of highly trained, multi-skilled craftsman that perform tasks in a wide range of mechanical disciplines.  We are a highly regulated company that has success by doing the job correctly the first time. The facility rests on 320 acres and over 25 building that contain a wide range of mechanical equipment.

It is the responsibility of the Maintenance Fill Line Mechanics to aseptically maintain fillers and cappers that run at speeds up to 600 vials per minute.  Responsibilities also include training a diverse group of individuals, ensuring continued filling line equipment operations, immediate response to filling equipment issues, performing preventive and corrective maintenance procedures and cross training on other pieces of biological production equipment within the facility.

Basic Qualifications:


  • This position is 2nd shift Wednesday thru Sunday 3 PM to 11:30 PM

  • High School Diploma/GED

Job Description/Responsibilities:


  • Exhibits fill line competencies such as set-up, change over, individual PM performance and troubleshooting

  • Troubleshoot, repair and perform preventative maintenance of bioreactors, fermentors, capping machines, cell growth equipment and associated support equipment. 

  • Implement metal work, sawing, welding, grinding, and filling.

  • The ability to perform detailed documentation of repair and preventive maintenance activities into a document detailing the problem, cause and remedy.

  • Troubleshoot, repair and perform preventative maintenance of bioreactors, fermentors, capping machines, cell growth equipment and associated support equipment. 

  • Collaborate with other workers to repair or move machines, machine parts or equipment.

  • Furnish a complete set of hand tools.

  • Perform basic shop math and practical shop calculations with fractions, decimals, and percentages.

  • Provide basic measurements and measuring tools in either metric and/or US standard systems.

  • Implement metal work, sawing, welding, and grinding.

  • Demonstrate knowledge of basic AC/DC electricity and electronics, including 3-phase electrical systems to perform basic tasks involving electricity and electronics. 

  • Independently perform methods of measuring current, voltage, resistance, simple OHMS law calculations, and reading both electrical and mechanical schematics.

  • Proceed independently without direct supervision.

  • Perform general housekeeping to maintain the cleanliness of work areas

  • Use a computer to keep accurate and complete records, meeting cGMP documentation practices.

  • Demonstrate an understanding of mechanical systems to allow effective and efficient troubleshooting.

  • Follow department standard operating procedures

  • Perform jobs of the lower grades as required.

  • Follow OSHA standards and lockout tag out procedures.

  • Follow Procedures for the handling of hazardous wastes

  • Ability to pass aseptic gowning

Preferred:

  • Additional education at vocational technical schools or colleges

  • The working environment includes, but is not limited to: non-classified as well as classified GMP areas such as aseptic areas requiring sterile gowning, production process areas, and mechanical spaces.
