We are looking for a full-time Alignment Technician for our headquarters in the Greater Kansas City area.  In this role, you will apply electronic theory, electrical testing procedures and related knowledge to align, troubleshoot and repair production electronic sub-assemblies.


This includes tracing circuits of defective units to the component level, discussing alignment, layout and assembly problems with Electronics Engineer/Process Engineer and recommend changes in circuitry or installation to improve assembly, alignment maintenance, test method or product performance.  


Other responsibilities include:


  • Sets up standard test equipment and conducts functional, operational, environmental and life tests to evaluate performance and reliability of prototype or production products

  • Analyze and interpret test data

  • Adjust, calibrate, align and modify circuitry and components and record effects on unit performance

  • Record test/alignment procedures and results, defects, repair history, numerical and graphical data

  • Must possess the ability to lift up to 25 pounds while using safe lifting techniques and standing for an entire shift

Garmin Alignment Technicians are responsible for compliance with Garmin’s Attendance Policy and DOT (Department of Transportation) requirements. Due to the level of training necessary to be successful in this position, Electronics Technicians are not eligible for job transfer for a minimum of one year after certifications in this position.

An Associate of Arts degree in Electronics Technology, Vocational Certification in Electronics Technology, a substantially related field of Military training, a minimum of 80 hours towards a Bachelor’s degree in Electronics Technology or a related field OR an Electronic Technician Certification (International Society of Certified Electronic Technicians (ISCET) or Electronic Technicians Associate International (ETA-I))

Qualified candidates must demonstrate:


  • strong and effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills

  • must be team-oriented and possess a positive attitude and work well with others 

  • must possess the ability to lift up to 25 pounds while using safe lifting techniques and standing for an entire shift.
