Job Description:

A beloved hospital in Western Texas is seeking an experienced Infection Prevention Manager! This facility is a part of a larger healthcare organization in the State of Texas, allowing room for career advancement and stability to the healthcare leader with experience in infection control.


This 210+ bed short term acute care facility offers a variety of medical services, including: advanced cardiovascular services, 24-hour emergency care, inpatient and outpatient surgery, radiology and diagnostic imaging services, comprehensive women’s services, pediatric care, wound care, as well as adult and neonatal intensive care. This facility is a designated trauma center, and continually receives 5-star ratings for its excellence in maternity care. Additionally, this hospital is accredited by the DNV (Det Norske Veritas Accreditation for Healthcare Organizations).


The Infection Prevention Manager will be responsible for oversight of all infection prevention and infection control activities within the hospital. The Manager of Infection Prevention will work closely with the sister-facility Employee Health Nurse/ Infection Control Practitioner to design and implement a facility-wide infection prevention program that aligns with DNV standards and CDC guidelines. The Manager Infection Prevention will report directly to the Chief Quality Officer, and will have the wonderful opportunity to collaborate with RN staff, unit managers, directors, and other hospital leadership to document, control, and effectively minimize hospital acquired infections. This role will be responsible for providing ongoing education to staff, in addition to on-boarding of new hires to current hospital infection prevention practices.


Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing or other related healthcare field is required for the Infection Prevention Manager. Two or more years of infection prevention management in a clinical setting is also required, along with CIC certification (Certification in Infection Prevention and Control).
