Job Description:

 TRUSS STACKER

 

Job Summary:

 

This is an entry level position which operates at the end of a production line sorting trusses per type and order to keep the finished product organized.  This position is to band trusses as well as to make visual inspections as to truss quality.

 

Responsibilities:

• Takes directions from the line leaders, crew leaders, and forklift operators.


• Notify line leaders of any quality issues in the form of missing plates, broken lumber, or if incorrect angles are apparent.


• Receive finished trusses from the presses and stacks them into appropriate piles by their apparent packages.


• Any other duties as needed by Truss Production Manager or location management


• Must be a U.S. citizen or be authorized to work in the U.S.

Skills Needed:

• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one-or two-step instructions. Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables.


• Ability to work well with others in a team environment

 

Education:

• High School diploma or equivalent

Physical Demands:

• Regularly required to stand, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, and hear, often required to climb or balance. Occasionally required to walk.

• Regularly required to lift up to 50 lbs. and occasionally required to lift up to 110 lbs.

• Regularly required to use close vision(clear vision at 20 inches or less), distance vision (clear vision at 20 feet or more), color vision (ability to identify and distinguish colors), peripheral vision (ability to observe an area that can be seen up and down or the left and right while eyes are fixed on a given point), depth perception (three-dimensional vision, ability to judge distances and spatial relationships), and the ability to adjust focus (ability to adjust the eye to bring an object into sharp focus).
