Quality Manager, Contract Packaging at PAC Worldwide

Job Description:

PAC Contract Services is a full-service contract packager and supplier. We partner with businesses large and small offering a wide range of packaging solutions and capabilities.


As a part of our Quality Team, the Quality Assurance Manager is responsible for:


Summary:


This role will provide leadership, support, and training of non-exempt Quality Tech personnel. The QA Manager is responsible for the administration of assigned quality processes assuring consistency with established PAC standards and procedures. The role is responsible for maintaining the daily operation of any lab/testing equipment. The expectation of the role is to exhibit leadership as the Quality representative when interacting with other departments, team members, customers, and vendors.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:




  • Be proficient in the duties and responsibilities of the QA Tech I position, provide coverage as needed




  • Provide supervision, attendance tracking, time approval, and arrange shift coverage as needed for all Quality personnel per the PAC Employee Handbook and department guidelines




  • Provide technical support as needed






  • Design and conduct training sessions, as needed, for new/transferred employees and/or existing QA personnel




  • Disposition accordingly, conforming and non-conforming materials per the appropriate documented Quality standards and procedures; this includes assuring proper product identification, segregation, and transactional integrity




  • Enter and assemble all required documentation, samples, and data to properly process material rejections, reworks, and corrective actions




  • Enter, track, and report External and Internal performance per established metrics




  • Enter, track, and report External and Internal corrective and preventive action requests including verification audits; assist in the investigation of corrective actions as needed






  • Responsible for the gathering, filing, and storage of product/material samples and retains in accordance with the appropriate PAC standards and procedures




  • Utilize knowledge of statistics and Microsoft Office to establish, maintain, and improve reporting methods and report formats




  • Document, maintain, and perform calibration for all lab and manufacturing testing equipment per the documented calibration process and procedures




  • Pursue resolution for malfunctioning lab and manufacturing testing equipment




  • Establish the necessary process instructions and calibration processes for all new lab and manufacturing testing equipment






  • Maintain Easy Label formats and all stock label inventories, provide production associates with labels as needed




  • Proof read and provide Quality sign off on all engineering masters thus assuring compliance to Quality criteria and requirements




  • Provide leadership and Quality perspective when participating in improvement projects and cross functional teams




  • Other duties as assigned




Qualifications:




  • 1-3 years of quality assurance related experience






  • 1-3 years of leadership/supervision experience




  • Statistical methods




  • Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook




  • Self-motivated and the ability to work with minimal direction




Education and/or Experience




  • High school diploma or equivalent required; some college preferred




  • Experience in Contract Packaging environments preferred




Language/Communication Skills




  • Must be capable of speaking, reading, and writing English with excellent written, oral, and interpersonal skills






  • Must be capable of speaking clearly and persuasively in positive or negative situations; listens and understands clarification; responds well to questions




Mathematical Skills




  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide and convert all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals




Reasoning Ability




  • Excellent attention to detail, quality, safety, problem solving, and follow-up.




  • Strong sense of urgency and time management skills
