KEY JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
As a member of the Failure Analysis Lab in II-VI's Optoelectronic Devices Division (OED), the incumbent provides SIMS analytical services for OED and other business units throughout the II-VI organization, II-VI customers, II-VI suppliers, and, occasionally, external entities. Analytical instruments used by the incumbent will highly focus on SIMS.
The incumbent is responsible for maintaining and utilizing SIMS analytical instruments to their best performance and throughput levels. Documentation throughout the analytical service case study is critical. In this role, the incumbent will provide analytical support to the process development team through sample preparation, data collection, failure mode analysis, and making reports and suggestions. The emphasis of this position is maximizing SIMS sample throughput with excellent customer support.
SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:

SIMS analytical experience on Cameca 7F Auto hardware, running high volume samples and basic tool maintenance

Responsibilities
Responsible for II-VI SIMS Analytical Services that swiftly identify the key parameters that relate to the emerging issues in final products, in-process materials, and feedstock, particularly, related to manufacturing and technology development, yield improvement, reduction in costs of quality, and shortening time of the product to market.

Contact with Others:
All internal departments (p rocess engineers, production teams, development engineers and scientists, program managers ), II-VI business units, customers, and suppliers. External customers and collaborators.
Errors/Problem Resolution:
Errors can affect project costs on the order of $25K, or higher when related to final products production process controls, or tool set-up for manufacturing campaigns.
