Job Function:

Perform duties required to wind parts to specifications, such as drilling, stacking, insulating, winding, welding, armature tester, varnisher, balancer, lathe, or punch press operations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

1. Make machine offsets and adjustments necessary to maintain quality standards.


2. Assist higher-grade operators as required.


3. Work from verbal and written instructions, follow sequence of work.


4. Use hand tools and gauges provided to ensure quality of parts produced.


5. Use hand or electric truck to move material


6. Good attendance is required to assure the efficient operation of the department.


7. Keep work area neat and clean.


8. Follow all company policies, safety rules, and practices.


9. Work well with others.


10. Be willing and able to work overtime as needed.

Perform additional duties as assigned by department supervisor

Education and Experience:

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred


• One to three months previous experience and/or training preferred

Required Skills:

• Ability to read and interpret documents such as blueprints, shop orders, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.


• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent.


• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles and risk of electrical shock.
