Job Description

Danfoss, a global market leader in Refrigeration and Air Conditioning, Heating & Water and Power Electronics, has an opening in its Waynesboro, PA office for a Material Handler/Production Assistant. We are looking for an individual with a relevant background who is always passionate and motivated towards delivering best quality and continual improvement using knowledge about materials, products, and processes within our operation.

This position provides support to the organization by supporting the proper movements of material through our ERP system (SAP) and physically throughout the operation. Significant time with tasks supporting production throughput is also required. Reporting directly to the Production Manager, this position is key in sustaining a high level of delivery performance by maximizing material flow efficiency and minimizing waste.

Job Responsibilities

• Process inbound shipments and book goods into the ERP system (SAP)


• Deliver inbound goods or inventory to work cells and transfer in the ERP system (SAP)


• Prepare outbound shipments with boxing, wrapping, and skidding of products


• Optimize storage of inventory, and facilitate movement of inventory to/from storage locations


• Follow-up with Engineering and Production departments to ensure coordination with material movements required to support ship dates


• Follow Master Production Schedule (MPS) in order to facilitate timely material movements throughout Production Area


• Participate in project teams as required


• Occasional light-duty panel wiring, printing of wire labels, panel cutting/drilling, and sub-assembly work, as needed


• Support the improvement of our delivery service and inventory control

Background & Skills

• High school diploma or technical certification in a related field


• SAP experience a plus


• Ability to read and comprehend procedures, some technical


• Good written and verbal communication skills are essential


• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office: Excel, Word, Powerpoint


• Ability to coordinate activities with all departments at plant level. Maintaining contact with Engineering, Production, Quality Assurance, and Purchasing.


• Fork truck operator certification a plus
