Responsible for the design of Bison Gear & Engineering's products. The Engineer will be involved in the creation of new product designs and the maintenance of existing designs.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Work on cross-functional teams that comprise of Electrical, Mechanical, Manufacturing, and Quality Engineers as well as Drafts people to design and develop single phase and three phase induction, permanent magnet DC (PMDC), brushless DC (BLDC), and other types of synchronous motors.
Create and modify wiring diagrams and schematics, circuit layouts, PCB assembly prints, and both mechanical and electrical BOMs.
Assist the production floor in troubleshooting winding machine setup issues.
Collaborate with compliance engineering to certify motor designs via UL, CSA, IEC, ISO standards.
Hands-on dismantling of production and prototype motors to perform RCCA analysis.
Configure electrical test setups for both mechanical and electrical tests of motors and gearmotors.
Specify and tune three phase inverters, PWM drives, and other motor controllers.
Specify and design absolute and incremental encoders per customer requirements.
Interface with Sales and customers to assist with technical discussions about project requirements.
Develop DFMEA and PFMEA for motors and related products.
