Job Description:

JOB FUNCTION: Perform overall duties of the Purchasing Coordinator as follows:

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:


  1. First line contact for all outside service vendors. Handle outside service orders and all account follow-up including order entry, expediting, price maintenance, print revisions, receiver follow-up, freight decisions, and invoice discrepancies. Investigate and resolve open issues, resolve quantity discrepancies, and close orders. Negotiate pricing for best package. Maintain outside service supplier relations including outside visits to facilities. Follow-up with SPIP documentation.
  2. Implements cost reduction strategies working with Materials Management and Planning for outside service products.
  3. Interface with Freight Logistics, Quality, Operations, Engineering, & Planning pursuant to purchasing to maintain proper flow of material as needed to the various departments.
  4. Handle all non-production purchase orders. Includes PO# assignment, order entry, receiver follow-up with owners of PO's, facilitate invoice discrepancy with Accounting and PO owner. Sort and file paperwork as needed.
  5. First line contact for motor vendor PO's for components Bison supplies to the outside. Maintain inventory coverage, communication with vendors, schedule shipments, maintain shipping paperwork, communicate with Motor Buyer & communicate inventory transactions with Materials. Maintain internal spreadsheets showing component breakdowns and vendor numbering system.
  6. Deal with MPO vending machine processing PO's, consigned usage, and reconciling invoice issues.
  7. Liaison with Planning and Stockroom in handling transactions dealing with material transfers, running stock status to clear negative inventory, assist with closing work orders as needed for Planning. (Outside Service w/o's fall within Hobbing or Machine Shop).
  8. Assist Planning with overflow as needed to insure proper material flow and maintenance of inventory levels. This includes decisions of whether to make in house or sent out to outside suppliers. Work with Engineering & Planning on New Unit Releases to set up and implement Machine Shop routings for new items.
  9. Enter Hobbing pick lists including conversion of bar material to weight.
  10. Assist with buying company supplies (outside of vending machine availability).
  11. Assist with general Purchasing Dept. duties, pricing maintenance, other on line maintenance, filing needs, and special projects as needed.
