Job Description:

Job Summary:
The SHA (State Highway Administration) General Laborer is responsible for completing general labor duties at assigned contract locations.

Essential Functions:

The duties and responsibilities for this position may vary depending on the needs of the specified contract. Duties may include but are not limited to the following:


  • Cleaning and preparing site for daily tasks.

  • Loading and unloading materials and equipment.

  • Operating and tending machinery and/or heavy equipment.

  • Direct vehicles around construction areas.

  • Communicate with other laborers and personnel.

  • Place traffic cones and necessary signs for construction.

  • Perform grounds keeping as necessary to include grass cutting, repairs, pulling/discarding weeds, or shoveling and removing snow.

  • Performs other unskilled tasks as required.

  • Reports any issues to supervisor.

  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred but not required.
