Your Responsibilities

As a Factory Automation ME for John Deere Thibodaux located in Thibodaux, Louisiana, you will i nnovate and implement cost reduction, quality, safety and ergonomic improvement ideas of moderate scope. In addition, you will...

• Design/update electrical systems and prints for machines or shop floor tooling and equipment including human-machine interfaces (HMI) and programmable logic controllers (PLC) and vehicle diagnostics (Programming & Test).
• Support of shop floor device connectivity (torque tools, test and verification equipment, vision systems, etc.)
• Support integration (installation and networking) of shop floor equipment and tooling into Manufacturing Execution Systems and PLCs.
• Provide daily support for urgent production issues, including root cause analysis and resolution.

What Skills You Need

• Skilled in PLC and computer programming, Structured Query Language (SQL) and the engineering tools associated.
• Knowledge of electrical design and the codes, common practices, and engineering tools required.
• Knowledge of MES solutions (SAP-MES, AMES, JDAAT, etc.), mistake proofing of manufacturing processes, and shop floor device connectivity.

What Makes You Stand Out

• 3 or more years of experience in one or more related engineering areas: electrical, controls, computer, etc.
• 3 or more years of experience with engineering tools, systems and databases
• 3 or more years of experience in electrical design and in the use of electrical drafting software
• 3 or more years of experience in PLC and/or PC programming
• Experience in project management - moderate to large scale complex projects
• Experience with Global Factory Programming Tool (GFPTX)
• Experience with Production SmarTest
• Experience with Inductive Automation Ignition programming software

Education

Ideally you will have a degree or equivalent related work experience in the following:

• Bachelors in Engineering (Electrical, Controls, Computer Science)
