Responsibilities:
Circuit board testing and repair
Production and repair of electronic cables and wire harnesses. Performing equipment performance analyses, and information collection and reporting
Performing equipment adjustment, testing, and certification
Installation of equipment and components, and modifications
Moderate lifting and carrying (50 lbs.), straight pushing and pulling, reaching above shoulders, use of fingers and both hands required, walking and standing, repeated bending, climbing, crawling, kneeling (use of both legs and arms), operation of crane, truck, tractor, or motor vehicle, both eyes required with depth perception and ability to distinguish basic colors and shades of colors, and hearing (aid permitted)
Installation of equipment and components, and modifications
Create Work Orders for individual component repairs in Integrated Logistic Support System, (ILSS) in support of various CBP mobile platforms, specifically the Mobile Video Surveillance System, (MVSS) program
Attend all Training Classes as required to maintain sufficient knowledge of repair procedures for CBP MVSS system to include all Safety related courses
Perform preventive Maintenance, (PM’s) of the MVSS systems in accordance with local CBP policy and procedures
Perform Corrective Maintenance, (CM’s) of the MVSS systems in accordance with local CBP policy and procedures
Troubleshoot MVSS systems to include fault isolation, removal and replacement of failed Line Replaceable Units, (LRU’s) required to return the system to full operational capability
Troubleshoot and restore all System Software, MVSS hardware/software, peripherals, vehicle interfaces/devices and equipment located in the bed of the vehicle including vehicle cab system display equipment and power generation equipment
Responsible for being in an “On-call” status, as needed. Technician will be in an On-Call rotation and carry a government furnished phone up to 40% of the time and required to provide after-hours support for MVSS Systems
During On-Call status technician must:
Remain in a ready state to perform work duties
Remain within normal commuting distance of work
Answer and or respond if called within a reasonable amount of time
Travel up to 25% of the time as needed to support MVSS systems located with the CBP infrastructure
Prepare MVSS assets for shipment to and from field site, vendor locations and/or Federal Aviation Administration Logistic Center, (FAALC)
Coordinate with Supply Technicians on material movement activities
Provides recommendation’s for process improvements and efficiencies
Enters time into Data Collection and Reporting System (DCRS) daily to ensure timely billing of hours
Keeps Management informed of tasks assigned
Elevate any issues that may arise
Assist in communication between managersProvide monthly status updates as required
Elevate to the Project Manager/Manager any issues that may arise. Immediately elevate any negative or positive impacts Urgent matters (immediate impact or catastrophic impact) via Phone, Text, Interrupt meeting or E-mail (last resort)
Qualifications:
Minimum of two (2) years of practical experience in an electronic technician support position or equivalent is required. This experience must include troubleshooting, repairing, assembling, testing, and installing electrical, electronic systems and equipment. Assists in developing, reviewing, and updating engineering documentation and processes utilizing necessary soldering, tool and test equipment usage
Minimum High School Diploma/GED and completion of formal technical training courses relevant to the position

Associate Degree in Electrical or Engineering Technology
