Key Accountabilities

Budget Scope: Applies skills to ensure that product meets Company specifications. Training program will include how training will occur and the exit criteria will verify skill requirements which could include results of the exit criteria to prove comprehension. General Description: Supervises personnel and organizes activities to ensure effective and efficient processing, and issuance of materials throughout the manufacturing facility Provides supervision to hourly employees and/or non-exempt employees.

Primary Responsibilities of the position consist of but are not limited to:

Supervises plant production line workers with an emphasis on teamwork, safety and excellent sanitation practices in concert with overall company goals and vision, to produce the highest quality product at the lowest possible cost. Ensures that necessary tools, supplies and equipment are available to perform production tasks effectively. Schedules staff and prioritizes workload in order to manage team hours to allotted budget. Performs training, compliance, recordkeeping, and duties related to achieving production objectives. Support quality control programs to ensure production procedures are in compliance with best practices food safety and quality standards

Receives assignments in the form of objectives with goals and the process by which to meet goals. Provides direction to employees according to established policies and management guidance, may become actively involved as required to meet schedules and resolve problems. Administers company policies that directly affect subordinate employees. Management reviews work to measure meeting of objectives.

Lead and monitor production line tasks.


  • Prior to shift start, reviews production schedule with the line supervisors and keeps them informed of any changes in product, line changes, material availability. Complete shift huddle/communication with Supervisors and employees.

  • Inspects production lines regularly to assure that Good Manufacturing Practices are followed.

  • Makes certain that production areas are kept clean of waste, debris, and liquids to avoid safety hazards.

  • Takes disciplinary measures when an employee fails to comply with company regulations.

  • Ensures that at the end of the shift all documentation pertinent to production: materials, employee hours, and counts are accurate. Completes all required information tracking and data collection.

  • Pro-active response to down time and rapid shift and product changeovers.

  • Resolves quality problems with QA participation immediately.

  • Maintains effective communications between the Shift Manager and supervisors. Identifies significant issues related to quality, safety, down time, production problems or any other unexpected issues.

  • As new products are introduced, supervisors take a pro-active approach to learn everything about the new product and by comparison. Utilize KPI data to drive performance with Line Leaders.

  • Keep accurate records for attendance, employee vacations, performance issues and safety incidents that comply with the company established policies.

  • Assure that E-time process is performed accurately for the pay roll process.

  • Execute production plan.

  • Ensure tasks are performed according to standard procedures and regulations.

  • Investigate and resolve production and personnel issues as they arise.

  • Account for 100% of raw materials consumed in mixing.

  • Ensure production and QA details are properly recorded.

  • Confer with Maintenance and Production Supervisors daily on production line issues.

  • Determine causes and suggest possible solutions.

Five (5) or more years of Supervisory experience in food production a must.
