To advance the mission and values of the OU Athletics Department by overseeing the marketing efforts of Men’s Basketball. This position will also oversee Women’s Gymnastics and/or external email communication for the department. Additionally, the individual in this position will oversee the Graduate Assistant program and/or Interns with the planning and execution of marketing select sports for the Oklahoma Athletics Department.
Essential Functions:
Marketing and Game Presentation:
Develop and implement marketing, promotions and game production plans to increase ticket sales, game attendance and fan experience elements for the following sports:
Men’s Basketball, Women’s Gymnastics, Men’s and Women’s Tennis and Track and Field
Intern/GA oversight for Tennis and Track and Field
Oversight of the basketball student section executive team (Boomsquad) and all of their efforts to increase student involvement with OU Basketball
In-venue presentations sponsored by the University and/or the Athletics Department
Marching Band performances
Spirit – Cheerleaders, Pom Squad and Mascots
Learn football game production to eventually have that as a responsibility
All other game day related activities
Email Communication:
Assistance in the creation and execution of all external email communication for the OU Athletics department, including ticket sales, game day information, and general announcements.
Maintain email database of over 115,000 contacts, including segmentation for specific campaigns.
Create and execute weekly ‘Sooner Exclusive’ e-newsletter, including Sooner Sports Properties obligations.
Graduate Assistant Program Oversight:
Responsible for the hiring and oversight of three graduate assistant positions.
Coordinate graduate assistant sport responsibilities, office hours, and tasks.
Approve timing sheets for each position.
Administration:
Assist with sponsorship fulfillment responsibilities related to Sooner Sports Properties (Learfield Property) and other third-party agreements
Ability to drive OU Marketing dual-axle truck and 12-foot trailer.
Maintain knowledge of the rules and regulations of the NCAA, Big 12 Conference, and The University of Oklahoma. Know, understand, and reinforce commitment to NCAA and Big 12 rules, and report violations or suspected violations to the Athletics Compliance Department.
Perform other related duties as requested.
Required Education: Bachelor Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience, AND:
18-36 months experience in Marketing fileds, sports industry, or related field

Certifications:
Drivers license to operate Community Relations vehicle
Advertised Physical Requirements:
Must be able to stand, engage in repetitive motions including movements of the hands, wrists or fingers, walk, communicate, hear including receiving detailed information orally or making fine discriminations in sound and see, including color, depth perception and clarity.
Departmental Preferences:
Master’s degree or above.
More than 3-5 years’ experience in athletics, marketing, community relations or another related field.
Marketing background in a division 1 athletics department with experience in game production, ticket sales campaigns and fan experience improvement effort.
High level of proficiency and comfort level with public speaking and/or speaking in front of large crowds during community appearances and school assemblies.
Experience in email marketing.
Experience with digital marketing and/or marketing automation.
