What you will do

York Factory Direct (FD), a division of Johnson Controls, is growing and we are looking for someone who can help to drive that growth, and their career with it!

You will have shared responsibility for the overall sales performance of the UPG FD region, in conjunction with the Regional General Manager (RGM), to meet revenue and growth expectations of the overall business.

We are seeking an experienced Sales Manager in the HVAC industry, with a consistent track record of business development and mentoring and training skills. You will lead a group of Account Managers to help them develop new accounts, and grow existing through training and working with them in the field.

How you will do it


  • Individual account development and management of customer accounts to meet or exceed individual sales goals and contribute to regional sales revenue.

  • Assist RGM in the recruiting and hiring process for new team members.

  • Onboard and train Account Managers and Inside Sales through regular one-on-one meetings, team meetings, and ride-alongs, as well as use of available tools (e.g., Salesforce.com).

  • Assist team in the creation and execution of development plans for Liberties Plus and Comfort Care Experts dealers, as well as designated commercial customers.

  • Assist in identification, recruitment and closing of potential dealers and commercial customers.

  • Assist with pricing management to improve gross margins by collecting, processing and sharing market intelligence for street pricing across all lines of business, and review and oversight of commercial quotes.

  • 40% of time will be spent on direct sales activities, 40% working directly with sales staff and 20% on administrative tasks, analysis, and planning.

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Business or related field of study. 

  • Minimum 6+ years’ HVAC experience in a sales management role.

  • Technical sales experience and consultative selling. 

  • Strong listening skills and decision-making ability.

  • Effective and professional communication and organization skills. 

  • Strength in growing team members, delivering results and accountability through others.
