This position is responsible for assisting the Finance Department in creating accurate and timely Financial records for the organization. An ideal candidate would be looking to build on existing Senior Accountant experience and ready to take on higher level Accounting functions, will be responsible for ownership of month-end close from journal entry creation through P&L review, account reconciliations, assist with Financial Analysis, and other various projects.
Essential Functions
Engage in critical and confidential aspects of Accounting and Finance
Ensure compliance with the Financial procedures of the organization, US GAAP, and IFRS
Various month end procedures and entries, including preparation of monthly and quarterly financial statements and supporting schedules, review, and analysis
Treasury management activities
Expense report management (Concur or D365 experience a plus)
Prepare monthly journal entries and account reconciliations
Oversee month end close process to ensure Corporate deadlines are met
Complete accurate and timely Financial reporting for 3 Main Steel plant locations
Variance Analysis - Prepare monthly bridges with commentary / explanations of monthly results vs budget and quarterly forecasts
Assist with compiling information for various audits
Assist Controller with the annual budgeting and quarterly forecasting processes
Develop and maintain control reviews for Internal Segregation of Duties compliance
Assist Controller with various process improvement projects, which will include ERP conversion in the next few years
Ad-hoc reporting and other projects

Fixed asset and Lease Accounting experience preferred
Advanced knowledge of Office products (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
Proficiency with ERP and reporting systems (AS400, Microsoft Dynamics D365, HFM experience a plus)
Proficient with virtual communication platforms, video conferencing, etc.
Understanding of US GAAP; IFRS experience a plus
Manufacturing industry experience a plus

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required
5+ years prior experience at a Senior Accountant level
