Regional Sales Support - temp at Ruth's Hospitality Group

Job Description:

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:



  • Fields inbound/forwarded restaurant phone calls, answers questions, and coordinates the scheduling of all events.

  • Responds to Guest inquiries promptly to secure group reservations and generate immediate revenue.

  • Provides information, quotes, credit terms, and other bid specifications to clients.

  • Negotiates prices, terms of sales, and/or service agreements; prepares contracts and submits orders.

  • Obtains all relevant information from the Guest to send appropriate menu pricing information and secure business.

  • Checks local restaurant availability by checking Gather and Open Table, validating availability with local Restaurant Manager or GM if any questions.

  • Generates a Banquet Event Order, contracting the event specifications and follow-up with the Group Coordinator/Event Planner to secure an executed/signed contract and deposit.

  • Communicates all event details to the local Restaurant Manager, ensuring 100% clarity of details and expectations, validating information and menu, answering questions and passing Guest contact on to the Restaurant Manager.

  • Keeps record of Guest contact information, interactions and transactions in our reservation system.

  • Maximizes private dining revenue center profitability through responsible sales techniques and utilization of approved menus with adherence to established program ROI. 

  • Periodically prepares and reports results, status of accounts, and leads to manager

  • Prospecting, cold calling and upselling to secure banquets and on-premise catering events for our restaurants nationwide as needed.

  • Additional duties as assigned.

 


REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES



  • Must be able to read, write, and demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Excellent Customer Service skills

  • Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook

  • Strong keyboarding and data entry skills, alpha and numeric

  • Ability to think well on his/her feet and to solve problems with ease and enjoyment

  • Ability to deal with difficult clients or customers over the telephone, while exhibiting a consistent level of professionalism

  • Must exercise accuracy, discretion, good judgment, attention to detail, courtesy, tact and patience

  • Strong interpersonal skills; establishes and maintains good working relationships, friendly and polite demeanour

  • Must be able to work independently with minimal direction and supervision

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

  • Ability to pass a verifiable background check

 


EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE:



  • High School Diploma or GED required

  • Two years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Experience in the Hospitably industry a plus.

 


PHYSICAL DEMANDS:


While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, talk, and hear for extended periods of time throughout the course of daily activities. The employee frequently is required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, or telephone. The employee is occasionally required to climb, lift, balance, stoop, kneel, or crouch. The employee must regularly lift and move up to 25 pounds.  The employee is required to work on a computer, in addition to doing paperwork.   


 


WORK ENVIRONMENT:



  • Work is performed in an office, call center environment, restaurant, or home office.

  • Position involves encounters with members at every level of the organization, vendors, and members of the public, and requires a sense of responsibility to provide a high level of customer service and accurate information

  • Work involves stress associated with responding to/solving problems

  • Normal working hours for this position will typically be Monday through Friday from 8:30am-5:00pm, with an expectation of checking email over the weekend to ensure responsiveness to Guests. Working hours can be expected to fluctuate to meet seasonal demands or time-zone
