Ardurra is seeking a Survey Party Chief to join our staff in Corpus Christi, TX. This is a full-time position requiring at least 3 years of survey field experience, a good attitude, and the ability to work with a team.
The survey party chief supervises the work performed by surveying groups in the field. Must have knowledge of, experience with, and be able to operate a variety of survey instruments including total stations, GPS receivers, data collectors (and their software platforms), and automatic levels in the execution and documentation of measurements and observations towards the successful completion of all types of surveys (boundary, topographic, construction layout, asbuilt, quantity, control, special purpose, etc.)
Accurate surveys of potential construction sites play a key role when determining design, costs, planning processes, and even the feasibility of a potential project.
They research previous surveys and any relevant building documentation for the plot of land for the current survey.
The chief then schedules how many surveying parties will be needed and creates a plan for accurate determination of distances, gradients, and other necessary components of a useful survey.
Education and Experience Requirements
Supervise their staff on the job site, ensuring that proper procedures and accurate reporting occurs, and that supporting photographic analysis is collected.
Conduct surveys and once all necessary findings are collected, the chief ensures data is although planning and reporting work takes place in an office setting.
Possess a valid Texas Driver’s License.
Pass vehicle insurance underwriting to become a qualified driver of company vehicles.
Ability to occasionally travel and work out of town from time to time as workload requires..

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

The employee works outside in all types of weather conditions, possibly for extended periods of time. The terrain may be rough, steep, wet or swampy.
