Job Description:

JOB PURPOSE:
This position will be based on site at a designated company facility. Primary function will be customer interaction, scorecard maintenance and interfacing with Operations Team. He/She will serve as the main point of contact for the customers designated to improve site performance and driving to achieve the milestone plans for new business development and customer scorecard improvement.

KEY RESULT AREAS:


  • To help sites achieve or exceed customer expectations in regards to KPI performance metrics, customer scorecards and new business milestone plans.
  • Ensure future sales achieving customer commit dates; and managing customer expectations on new business performance.
  • Maintain timely and accurate reporting requirements regarding product performance, threatened loss of business, sales forecasts, industry trends, competitive information and activities, account analysis and status to assist management in making informed decisions
  • Maintain timely and accurate reporting and accounting of expenses in accordance with company travel policies.
  • Maintain high standards of business ethics and professionalism to enhance company image as a leader in the aerospace market.
  • Perform special projects as requested by the Site VP/GM.
  • Work to develop five year plan for sales growth for respective customer base.
MAIN WORKING RELATIONSHIPS:
Internal

  • Production & Operations Manager - Continuous communication with GM on site performance to customer scorecards and new business development plans along with strategic short term planning.
  • Site Engineers/Site Director of Operations - Assist in managing and communicating customer expectations; scorecards, milestone plans, new business planning and site specific needs from the customer to deliver on new business plans.
  • Administration Personnel - Guidance and forecasts of operations, materials, and production requirements, product deliveries and stock. Control of costs, financial planning and quotations.
External

  • Customers - Relationship development and customer expectation management.
  • Facilities - Interaction with engineers and site managers on product design and customer requirements.
  • Marketing & Technical functions - exchange commercial and technical information and ideas.
PROBLEM-SOLVING COMPLEXITY/Availability required:

The job requires a high level of technical insight into aerospace castings and their use, along with a keen commercial ability to understand the implications of costs and profitability. The job requires a thorough understanding of customer manufacturing and engineering operations, the ability to identify and understand customer needs and an effectively communicate and sell the benefits of company products and services.

Information on Aerospace customers and Turbine Engine Platforms is critical to success in this role.

The incumbent must be able to work with and manage the timely overlapping needs of customers and communicate their needs to personnel. Requires flexibility with hours of work, incumbent must be available for work outside standard business days and hours. Capability to aid and support operational functions to meet customer requirements is imperative.

KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE/SKILLS Required:
This position requires a minimum of 3-5 years direct project management experience or 5 years of combined technical, operational and/or program experience in the aerospace/industrial gas turbine markets. Incumbent must possess strong interpersonal skills, excellent communication and organizational skills, along with program management experience. Hands-on floor experience would be beneficial. Some direct operational or technical foundry experience would be preferred.
