We are seeking a Systems Engineer who will provide website development and database management support. The Systems Engineer will also assist with maintenance related to third party vendor updates, security patches, compliance controls, and other fixes required.

Top Secret Responsibilities



  • Provide and maintain a gold copy of approved baselines for the Website and database, including:

    • Tagged Image File Format (TIFF) repositories for all scanned images not submitted to the NDL
    • Scripts that feed National Imagery Transition Format (NITF) files to the NDL and Open Document Spreadsheet (ODS)
    • Scripts that collect other image files
    • Scripts that collect user metrics
    • Assist with single point of presence on all classification levels for HIDS

  • Maintain a list of functional requirements, to include developing long-term feature releases.
  • Maintain a source code repository and appropriate Configuration Management controls.
  • Develop workflows in coordination with customers to support automation, where possible.
  • Provide adequate testing (including with impacted customers) prior to releases/updates.
  • Ensure appropriate PKI or other Identity and Access Management (IdAM) integration.
  • Ensure web services availability.
  • Define mission application OS requirements.
  • Define mission application performance requirements.
  • Package and test information assurance vulnerability alerts (IAVA's) (Mission applications).
  • Provide database updates to maintain systems.
  • Create/Manage/Troubleshoot Application Schema-level processes, database objects, and entity data.
  • Grant/Revoke access to entity schema-level database objects/data.
  • Troubleshoot system errors and provide bug fixes.
  • Assist in script creation for metrics collection and reporting.
  • Post Mission Data.
  • Assist with adaptive maintenance related to third party vendor updates, security patches, compliance controls, and other fixes.
  • Coordinate with the ISP on all changes and outages.
  • Create backups of mission data.
  • Prepare mission application for restore activities (as needed).
  • Provide Incident and Problem Management.
  • Provide multi-level problem and root cause analysis - mission application service.
  • Deploy Archive Manager (DRS replacement) into operations.
  • Test web updates via development servers prior to deployment.
Qualifications


  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or other related technical discipline, or equivalent combination of education, technical certifications, training, and work/military experience
  • 10+ years of hands-on experience within systems administration with both government and commercial experience
  • Experience in performing database administration using SQL
  • Ability to perform webserver tuning and maintenance
  • Ability to design custom web pages, including the use of Hypertext Preprocessor (PHP)
  • Ability to execute the File Transfer Protocol (FTP) process
