We are looking for a dynamic individual to join our Indiana team as the Deputy Director of Strategic Initiatives.

The Deputy Director - Strategic Initiatives is responsible for technical assistance services that are

provided to and respects the diversity of Indiana’s early childhood education and care programs,

including but not limited to on-demand, in-person, and online facilitated learning experiences; peer to

peer learning opportunities; and in-person and online coaching. Specific strategic initiatives will include

the expansion of business support and mental health support, Better Together, and statewide

implementation of the Go NAPSACC assessment offered by SPARK Learning Lab, as well as others.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

● Serves as a member of the Shine Advance - Indiana Executive Leadership team and SPARK

Learning Lab Leadership Team, which includes supporting the TA Project Director in meeting all

program or company-wide goals.

● Leads and directs cross-functional team collaborations and develops the content development

strategy in support of the overall business plan and strategic direction of the organization.

● Manages budget for all services and content development.

● Creates and maintains consistent standards and quality assurance processes for all content and

services.

● Utilizes data from programs, Regional Advisory Committees, the state of Indiana, partners, and

new research in the field to strategically prioritize content production and deployment to online

platforms, development of in-person facilitated sessions, convening for peer learning

opportunities, and coaching experiences.

● Collaborates with and leads programmatic subcontractors.

● Ensures all project performance goals meet or exceed contract requirements.

● Provides strategic and operational recommendations to the TA Director and company leadership

to achieve project goals, efficient operations, high quality service delivery, and new business

opportunities.

● Works with the TA Project Director on the Program Improvement Plan and continuous

refinement of the TA support model.

● Participates in assigned meetings, events and training as required.

Supervision

● Supervises assigned department personnel. Includes the following responsibilities, but are not

limited to: hiring, training, scheduling, evaluating, and ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and the

completion of all work performed by direct reports

● Educates direct reports on all department and agency policies and procedures

● Meets with assigned staff to identify and resolve problems, manage projects, track goals, and

review work processes and procedures

● Represents the team and/or department at meetings, events, and training as required

Job Requirements:


  • Bachelor’s degree required in Business, Education Administration, Organizational Management,

  • or Social Work; Master’s Degree is preferred.

  • 5+ years’ experience in supervision and project or contract management.

  • Experience with data analytics and data-informed decision-making.

  • Background checks are required for this position.

  • Travel required locally or long-distance up to 10% of the time for work-related meetings and

  • functions.

  • Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
