POSITION SUMMARY

Foundry Technicians perform various tasks and assist the different departments to initialize department processes.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS 

• Understanding specifics of control rods and furnace plugs.


• Plugging and unplugging furnace.


• Maintaining consistent metal flow to casting table throughout cast.


• Cleans trough and degasser box and changes filter.


• Loading/unloading homogenizer pads including placing and removing spacer rails.


• Installs/uninstalls safety rail by casting table.


• Bundles logs using tool. Remains a safe distance away from thimbles when removing skins from underneath casting table.


• Removes skins from top of casting table.


• Operates arc welder.


• Understands uses and differences in cones used in casting process.


• Stocks cones and filters.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• 1+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment


• Minimum forklift driving.


• High School Diploma or GED

WORKING CONDITIONS

• This position works in a manufacturing environment.
  
  Able to work in extreme heat or cold conditions.


• Work is performed in a manufacturing environment in all weather conditions.


• Lift up to 25 lbs. regularly, up to 50 lbs. frequently and up to 75 lbs. occasionally.


• Bend, twist, climb, squat, kneel throughout shift.


• Ability to function successfully in a fast-paced, changing work environment.


• Must be able to handle both large pieces and small pieces of aluminum extrusions.
