SUMMARY OF JOB PURPOSE:
Repairs, maintains and performs preventive/predictive maintenance on all plant machinery, equipment and buildings.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
Communicates with operators and observes, tests, and evaluates operation of machinery and equipment to diagnose cause of malfunction, using test equipment and hand tools, to locate the cause of a breakdown and correct the problem.
Assemble, repair, install, test, and maintain electrical or electronic wiring, equipment, appliances, apparatus, and fixtures, using hand tools and power tools.
Inspect electrical systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards, defects, and the need for adjustment or repair, and to ensure compliance with codes.
Advise management on whether continued operation of equipment could be hazardous.
Test-runs repaired machinery and equipment to verify proper and safe operation.
Examines parts for defects, such as breakage or excessive wear.
Records repairs and maintenance performed
Maintain and Calibrate welding machine
Perform general building maintenance including plumbing, electrical, carpentry and mechanical.
Other duties may be assigned.

Must be able to professionally communicate with co-workers, managers and vendors
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES:
Must be able to use meters and scope for problem solving/troubleshooting
Experience with 3 phase, 480 volt electrical systems
Experience with Crane maintenance, repairs and inspections.
Experience with hydraulic and pneumatic systems including control valves
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers, vendors or employees of organization.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Electrical background preferred.
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
Computer skills needed, use Microsoft Excel for inventory management. Microsoft Word as needed to generate documents as needed.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or three to five years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience with heavy duty welding and steel fabrication equipment is highly regarded.
