NYC Ferry is seeking a Contract Specialist.

About the Opportunity:

Provide cradle-to-grave contract administration on government contracts and subcontract agreements of varying size and complexity to ensure adherence to contract terms and compliance with FAR and DFAR regulations.

About You:

This person will be adaptable, dynamic, and embody City Experiences’ RESPECT Service System.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:


  • Responsible for overall contract compliance of assigned tasks in accordance with contract requirements including newly awarded contracts, renewals, amendments, modifications, extensions, and close out.

  • Prepare and maintain audit ready contract files to ensure successful government audit results

  • Responsible for contract deliverables including a variety of reports, correspondence, and mandatory filings (SAM, CPARS, and Seaport-e)

  • Interpret and communicate contract modifications to Project Managers

  • Identify and resolve contracting issues as they arise and assist Project Managers with appropriate solutions to ensure contract requirements and deliverables are fulfilled.

  • Advise senior management on key contract requirements, potential risk areas and non-standard deliverables.

  • Foster and maintain a sound and reliable relationship with counterparts in customer/government organizations and industry groups.

  • Act as subcontractor liaison; execute and issue subcontract agreements, modifications, change orders, terminations, teaming agreements and non-disclosure agreements consistent with DFAR.

  • Management of subcontractor contract compliance; review subcontractor invoices for compliance with subcontract terms and conditions.

  • All other duties as assigned

Requirements & Qualifications:


  •  Experience with a variety of contract types (Firm Fixed Price, Time & Materials, Fixed Price Labor Hour, other) including mods and close-outs

  •  Knowledge of Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR), Defense Federal Acquisition Regulations (DFAR), and other government agency supplements

  •  Proficient with Microsoft Office

  •  Experience with Sharepointpreferred

  •  Maintain extreme confidentiality

  •  Excellent verbal & written communication

  •  Ability to multi-task, i.e., manage multiple priorities with similar deadlines

  •  Ability to work with a sense of urgency and efficiency

  •  Detail-oriented and extremely organized

  •  Work in fast-paced, quickly changing environment

  •  Accept changes of direction in work and priorities with a positive attitude

  •  Proactive thinker, constantly thinking ahead to better serve our internal and external customers

  •  Minimum 5 years of experience in FAR/DFAR based Government Contracts and Subcontract administration

  •  DAWIA Level II certified in Contracting or Certified Professional Contract Manager (CPCM) Certification required

  •  Bachelor’s degree required or an equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted

  •  Current security clearance or ability to obtain
